The
Sanderling Nature Center
Follow
the road south of the park office to the Sanderling Nature Center. Located
in the dunes along Lake Michigan, the Center includes an observation deck
on top of the building, an auditorium for multimedia nature programs,
a history display area, interactive Nature sunroom and a souvenir shop.
Throughout the center are mounted park animals and fish of the great lakes.
The
center is open during the summer months with a Naturalist on duty from
Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Creeping Juniper Nature Trailhead is at
the Center, and the Kohler Dunes Cordwalk can be accessed from either
side of the parking lot.

Disturbance
Notify
park personel at 920-451-4080. If necessary, call the Sheboygan County
Sheriff's Department at 911.
Fire
Notify
park personnel of call Black River Fire Department at 911. Do not attempt
to extinguish any spreading fire until you are sure that authorities are
notified.
Severe
Weather
If
there are park staff on duty, they will attempt to contact visitors. Tune
to local radio stations (106.5 FM or 1330 AM). Seek cover in one of the
park's concrete block buildings. Avoid the beach, lake and tall trees.
These areas are more prone to be struck by lightening.
